Escape With The Louvre

Context

This project is a personal exploration of how the Louvre’s artistic richness can be translated into a digital experience. My goal was to create a landing page that feels immersive and elegant, using strong visuals, expressive typography, and a cinematic scrolling flow to highlight the museum’s iconic artworks.

Challenge

The challenge was presenting the Louvre’s grandeur without overwhelming users with too many images or text. I wanted the design to feel dramatic and atmospheric, but still simple, modern, and easy to navigate. Finding the right balance between storytelling and clean structure was essential.

Process

I began by establishing an editorial, museum-catalog tone. Large full-width artworks set the mood, supported by bold, condensed typography that creates contrast and hierarchy. I explored different ways of showcasing the art and used alternating light and dark sections to create rhythm while scrolling. Short quotes and minimal text blocks were added to reinforce the emotional and historical depth of the museum. The layout remained intentionally spacious so the artwork could stay at the center of the experience.

Final Design

The final landing page features strong titles, curated artwork sections, and a smooth vertical flow that guides users through the experience. High-contrast backgrounds and horizontal galleries add movement, while the overall design stays clean and modern. The result is an immersive digital introduction to the Louvre; atmospheric, balanced, and visually expressive.
